New U-Pb SHRIMP zircon geochronological results from six samples collected from two petroleum exploration drillholes (CBM 107-001 and CBM 107-002) provide age constraints and provenance information in the sedimentary rocks of the Pedirka Basin.

3D dataset compilation across the Birrindudu Basin
NTGS has released Data Information Package (DIP) 043. It comprises open-file surface and subsurface geochemistry, geophysics, geology, geochronology, SEEBASE interpretation, major structures, petrophysics and hyperspectral that can be easily imported into a variety of visualisaton and modelling software.

Collaborative processed seismic data available in the underexplored western greater McArthur Basin
Geoscience Australia and the NT Geological Survey have acquired the Northwest Northern Territory Seismic Survey (L214), now available for download. This survey covers a vast area of the Birrindudu Basin and the northern Tanami region.

Mineral Royalties Bill 2024 passed in the NT Legislative Assembly
The newly passed bill will apply an ad valorem royalty scheme from 1 July 2024 for new mines from 2024, with existing mines grandfathered under the profit-based mineral royalties scheme.
