Under Resourcing the Territory, the Northern Territory Geological Survey (NTGS) is attending and participating in domestic and international industry events in the national promotion of Australia as an exploration investment destination through Australia Minerals and Australia Petroleum events coordinated by Geoscience Australia.
A key highlight for the NTGS is hosting the Annual Geoscience Exploration Seminar (AGES), which is held in Alice Springs. It is the premier exploration event in the Northern Territory (NT).

NTGS was well represented at the fourth Central Australian Basins Symposium held in Darwin on 29 and 30 August. Highlights included NTGS presenting several presentations as part of the technical program; NTGS geologists hosting the pre-conference fieldtrip exploring some of the Top End's outcropping Palaeoproterozoic to Cretaceous basin sediments and underlying basement; and NTGS hosting the Beetaloo Sub-basin core viewing workshop at its Darwin Core Facility. NTGS presented in the technical program, with NTGS' Dr Amber Jarrett receiving the award for best presentation at the conference.

NTGS attended the 4th AECG, one of the leading conferences for petroleum, mineral and water resource industry in the region. Incorporating the ASEG-PESA International Geophysical Conference and Exhibition, and jointly hosted by the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG), Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (ASEG), and Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA), this year's conference theme is Geoscience - Breaking New Ground.

Representatives from NTGS were at APPEA highlighting opportunities for oil and gas exploration in the NT. Dr Amber Jarrett presented a new exploration framework for the greater McArthur Basin.

The department was represented at the NAPE Summit exhibition in Houston, USA, in February 2020. The NT participated in activities to promote current and emerging investment opportunities in Australian oil and gas.
