Promoting the Territory’s resource potential through events and presentations.

Under Resourcing the Territory, the Northern Territory Geological Survey (NTGS) is attending and participating in domestic and international industry events in the national promotion of Australia as an exploration investment destination through Australia Minerals and Australia Petroleum events coordinated by Geoscience Australia.

A key highlight for the NTGS is hosting the Annual Geoscience Exploration Seminar (AGES), which is held in Alice Springs. It is the premier exploration event in the Northern Territory (NT).

Annual Geoscience Exploration Seminar (AGES), Alice Springs, 16 and 17 April 2024

NTGS’s flagship event, AGES, has been scheduled for the Alice Springs Convention Centre on 16 and 17 April 2024.

AGES is a technical exploration conference with a range of talks from the NTGS, its research partners and the exploration industry. It presents a unique opportunity to network and discuss the latest in geoscience and exploration from across the Territory.

Australian Energy Producers Conference and Exhibition (formerly APPEA), Perth, 20 to 23 May 2024

Representatives from NTGS and DITT will be attending AEP highlighting opportunities for oil and gas exploration and the latest in low emissions energy including CCSU and hydrogen in the NT.

International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC), Sydney, 29 October to 31 October 2023

NTGS will be attending IMARC in Sydney. With more than 9,000 attendees featuring 6 concurrent conferences covering exploration, discovery and project developments, minerals processing, digital technology, and mining innovation, the huge program brings together more than 600 speakers across technical talks and panel discussions and more than 500 exhibitors.

NT Resources Week, Darwin Convention Centre, 13 and 14 September 2023

NT Resources Week was held at the Darwin Convention Centre on 13 and 14 September 2023. NTGS presented in the Mining the Territory program, with representatives available to discuss projects, exploration grants and more.

Northern Australia's largest resources conference brings together key players from the resources industry across 3 conference streams, Mining the Territory, SEAAOC and the Environmental Management and Decarbonisation Forum. The event connects attendees in the mining, exploration, engineering, oil and gas, renewable energy, construction and environmental management sectors across northern Australia and South East Asia.

Central Australian Basins Symposium, 29 and 30 August 2022

NTGS was well represented at the fourth Central Australian Basins Symposium held in Darwin on 29 and 30 August. Highlights included NTGS presenting several presentations as part of the technical program; NTGS geologists hosting the pre-conference fieldtrip exploring some of the Top End's outcropping Palaeoproterozoic to Cretaceous basin sediments and underlying basement; and NTGS hosting the Beetaloo Sub-basin core viewing workshop at its Darwin Core Facility. NTGS presented in the technical program, with NTGS' Dr Amber Jarrett receiving the award for best presentation at the conference.

NT Resources Week, 24 and 25 August 2022

The annual NT Resources Week is northern Australia’s largest resources industry based networking, conference and exhibition experience. NTGS presented in the Mining the Territory program.

Now in its 14th year, this joint event unites 3 of northern Australia’s foremost resource industry events: The South East Asia Australia Offshore and Onshore Conference (SEAAOC), Mining the Territory Conference and the Environmental Management and Logistics Forum.

Run in partnership with the NT Government, NT Resources Week is a leading meeting point for captains of industry in mining, exploration, engineering, oil and gas, constructions and environmental management across northern Australia and South East Asia. It was held at the Darwin Convention Centre on 24 and 25 August 2022.

NT Resources Week 2021, Darwin, 27 and 28 October 2021

The annual NT Resources Week is northern Australia’s largest resources industry based networking, conference and exhibition experience.

Now in its 13th year, this joint event unites three of northern Australia’s foremost resource industry events: The South East Asia Australia Offshore and Onshore Conference (SEAAOC), Mining the Territory Conference and the Environmental Management and Logistics Forum.

AGES is a technical exploration conference with a range of talks from the NTGS, its research partners and the exploration industry. AGES 2019 attracted 251 delegates, most of whom represented minerals and petroleum explorers and service providers.

Australiasian Exploration Geoscience Conference (AEGC), Brisbane, 13 to 18 March 2023

NTGS attended the 4th AECG, one of the leading conferences for petroleum, mineral and water resource industry in the region. Incorporating the ASEG-PESA International Geophysical Conference and Exhibition, and jointly hosted by the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG), Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (ASEG), and Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA), this year's conference theme is Geoscience - Breaking New Ground.

Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA) Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition, Brisbane, 16 to 19 May 2022

Representatives from NTGS were at APPEA  highlighting opportunities for oil and gas exploration in the NT. Dr Amber Jarrett presented a new exploration framework for the greater McArthur Basin.

The manuscript is available to download through GEMIS Petroleum supersystems in the greater McArthur Basin, Northern Territory, Australia: prospectivity of the world's oldest stacked systems with emphasis on the McArthur Supersystem.

NTGS attended the PDAC 2023 convention. PDAC is the world's largest annual exploration-focussed investment event which attracts around 30,000 delegates, offering a wide range of opportunities for speakers and facilitators to share knowledge, strategies, new concepts, case studies and more. NTGS presented in the Australia Minerals Australia Program: Pre-competitive geoscience session:  WORLD’S BEST DATA PRODUCING THE WORLD’S BEST RECORD OF DISCOVERY.

NTGS attended the PDAC 2023 convention. PDAC is the world's largest annual exploration-focussed investment event which attracts around 20,000 delegates, offering a wide range of opportunities for speakers and facilitators to share knowledge, strategies, new concepts, case studies and more. NTGS will be represented in the Australia Minerals Australia: Innovative mineral exploration and investment opportunities.

NTGS presented at the first virtually held PDAC 2021 convention. PDAC is the world's largest annual exploration-focussed investment event which attracts around 20,000 delegates. NTGS presented with Australia Minerals as part of the International Stage program on Tuesday 9 March 2021.

2020 PDAC convention was held in Toronto, Canada. PDAC is the world's largest annual exploration-focused investment event which attracts around 20,000 delegates. NTGS presented in the main program at PDAC and in the Australia Minerals seminar.

North American Prospector's Exhibition (NAPE), Houston, February 2020

The department was represented at the NAPE Summit exhibition in Houston, USA, in February 2020. The NT participated in activities to promote current and emerging investment opportunities in Australian oil and gas.
