The Northern Territory (NT) is a major producer of manganese, bauxite, zinc-lead-silver and gold, and has significant past uranium production. The NT also contains significant deposits of copper, critical minerals (including lithium, rare earths, vanadium and tungsten), phosphate, iron ore and mineral sands, and has large resources of conventional and unconventional petroleum.
