National Drilling Initiative reveals mineral potential of the Barkly Region

The results of the National Drilling Initiative’s (NDI) first drilling program, led by the MinEx CRC with support from Geoscience Australia and the Northern Territory Geological Survey (NTGS) are now available.  The drilling uncovered copper mineralisation, with further analysis to be undertaken with MinEx CRC researchers.

The data can be accessed through the Exploring for the Future Data Discovery Portal (http://bit.ly/NDI-east-tennant) and the MinEx CRC National Drilling Initiative Portal (http://bit.ly/minexCRC-east-tennant). The upcoming AGES conference will also provide an opportunity for briefing sessions.

In conjunction with the release of the data, NTGS have also released hyperspectral data for each of the 10 holes. The Hylogger data packages can be downloaded or requested through the InfoCentre.
