NTGS collects Territory-wide rock property data focussing on the key properties of magnetic susceptibility, bulk density, grain density, porosity and permeability. DIP013 is a compilation of rock property measurements both collected by NTGS and sourced from open file company reports, core sampling reports, government publications, and academic publications.
The new measurements are made on drill core held at NTGS Core Facilities and use a standardised procedure to improve consistency and reproducibility of data. DIP013 contains data collated up until March 2021 and new measurements made up to December 2020. Over 60 000 new measurements have been added to the rock property dataset since it’s last release.
