Under the Resourcing the Territory (RTT) program, NTGS is improving the accessibility of large datasets to facilitate increased resource exploration and investment across the Northern Territory. All datasets greater than 1 GB associated with open-file mineral exploration reports are now available for direct download via GEMIS. Historically, these large datasets were only accessible on request, creating delays and limiting their practical use in exploration workflows.
NTGS is now progressing to improving access to large datasets associated with petroleum exploration reports, which will commence with well data and then seismic data. As new minerals and petroleum reports are made open file in accordance with Northern Territory resources legislation, NTGS will continue to increase the number of large datasets downloadable via GEMIS, further strengthening industry access to critical exploration data.
