The From Fold to Gold project delivers a 3D geological model of the Pine Creek Orogen’s Central Domain, extending to 2 km depth and covering 3,900 km². This model integrates existing geological mapping and open-source geophysical datasets to refine the region’s complex structural and stratigraphic framework. It highlights the role of Cullen Supersuite granites and major fault systems in controlling mineralisation, providing a powerful tool for explorers targeting gold, uranium, and critical minerals.
A key aim of the project was to assess the quality of existing datasets, identify gaps, and lay the groundwork for future modelling as new data becomes available. Recommendations include updating aeromagnetic coverage, collecting systematic petrophysical data, and incorporating the recently completed high-resolution Pine Creek Ground Gravity Survey. These improvements, alongside structural framework reviews and mineral systems analysis will enhance exploration outcomes. Many of these improvements are already in progress through NTGS programs.
The 3D model is available in Leapfrog Geo and Geoscience Analyst formats. An ArcGIS Pro package is also available, containing a compilation of all the geological and geophysical datasets in 2D. Download the report and products through GEMIS
