NTGS has released legacy exploration data from two 1:100,000 map sheets, Koolpinyah and Noonamah, covering part of the northern Pine Creek Orogen, as part of Resourcing the Territory's ongoing program to digitise historic drilling and geochemistry data.
The latest release comprises legacy geo-located data digitally captured from 276 company reports. This data includes over 6,200 drillhole collars and over 20,700 down-hole samples with geochemical results, and approximately 24,200 surface samples (stream sediment, soil and rock chip) including associated geochemical assays. The program continues its focus on the Pine Creek region after the first release in 2022 covering the Fergusson River 1:250,000 map sheet, south of the Pine Creek township and west of Katherine. The total legacy exploration data released in the Pine Creek region now includes more than 9,300 drillhole collars, 69,600 drillhole samples and 69,800 surface samples and associated geochemistry results.
The digitisation of the legacy data is providing explorers with immediate access to a complete and spatially located dataset of all historic drilling and geochemistry in the area. This is an important pre-competitive dataset to allow industry to rapidly assess and interpret past exploration in the area.

The latest data will be included in DIP001: Northern Territory geochemical datasets in late 2023.
