The Territory's first lithium mine opens

FinnissMine

Core Lithium's first direct shipping of ore is expected to be exported by the end of 2022 and the production of concentrate proposed to commence in early 2023.

Core Lithium has progressed the project from early exploration to mining within 6 years, with a number of key NTGS pre-competitive datasets and products assisting Core Lithium’s decision to invest in the region. With resource growth continuing at the Finniss project, numerous explorers are also active in the prospective pegmatite fields of the Pine Creek Orogen and Aileron Province, which have the potential for further lithium resources to meet rising global demand.

NTGS is committed to supporting exploration and development of lithium under the Resourcing the Territory program. Under the current round of the Geophysics and Drilling Collaborations, NTGS are co-funding a deep hole at the Sandras lithium prospect, an ambient noise tomography survey to image pegmatites at depth in the Shoobridge area, and the first diamond drilling of pegmatites in the Mount Peake field in central Australia.
