Northern Territory Resources Interactive map

View the Northern Territory Resources interactive map highlighting the Territory’s resource potential, focusing on onshore energy projects, operating mines, future mines, and enabling infrastructure such as manufacturing and processing opportunities, the Middle Arm Sustainable Development Precinct and transport networks.

Understanding the Northern Territory’s role in heading towards net zero emissions, while maintaining energy security.

The Northern Territory Government respectfully acknowledges the First Nations people of this country and recognise their continuing connection to their lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and to their leaders past, present and emerging.

The Territory, is embarking upon a prosperous and exciting economic transformation... we are harnessing our strengths, to head towards a net zero future. There is a global imperative to get to net zero emissions, while maintaining energy security.

The Territory, has the resources and capability, to help Australia and the World, to head down this path.

We know that the Territory’s highly sought after gas reserves are pivotal to Australia’s energy security; essential to our economic growth including through downstream value-adding; and vital to our transition to renewables.

The Territory is developing, the Middle Arm Sustainable Development Precinct,
a global-first industrial area.

Largely powered by renewables and master-planned to achieve a circular economy approach, the precinct will be underpinned by Carbon Capture Usage and Storage infrastructure.

Our scope for large scale renewables, and water volumes can support global scale green hydrogen.

The Territory, has some of the most in-demand critical minerals in the world. critical minerals are needed for renewable energy, battery storage and industries of the future.

The availability of quality land, infrastructure, energy and water supply, will support our vision for low emission advanced manufacturing and mineral processing.

Our strategic location positions us perfectly, for global supply chains.

We have the closest major port to Australia’s major trading partners, proximity to gas reserves and the Amadeus pipeline, supported by rail and road connectivity.

Our world-class regulation is ensuring that the decisions we make, are the right decisions. And that’s the future we’re building for the Territory, and for Australia.

One of our challenges, is to lift our community to a better place for all. We are working in partnership with Aboriginal businesses and communities, to these outcomes.

Our abundant mineral and energy resources are without doubt, the Territory’s strongest areas of competitive advantage...

We have the resource and capability to help Australia and the world, to achieve a clean energy future.
